An example of my work. Heel & Toe's Parents' Charter

Heel & Toe Children’s Charity – Parents' Charter
Welcome
Welcome to Heel & Toe Children’s Charity. We provide essential therapy services to children that the NHS cannot currently offer.
We supply FREE Conductive Therapy to any child from birth to 19 years old at our specially designed and adapted centre, based in County Durham.
We understand that the NHS cannot provide sufficient therapy that EVERY child needs and we seek a meaningful solution to your child's requirements.
Heel & Toe Children's Charity provides over 12,000 FREE hours each year with no government funding. After many years of parents requesting additional therapy from us for their children, we established a suite of therapies to help. These services - such as Physiotherapy and Special Educational Tutoring - have to be paid for and, as a charity we are unable to raise it all from our fundraising events and our many other revenue streams.
Presently, we contribute one third of the target from our events programme towards our cause, leaving the remaining two thirds to be funded by parents.
We need to raise over £450,000 each year and can only do this with your help.
In difficult economic times, many parents tell us they need an urgent and long lasting solution but do not know what to do. At Heel & Toe, our Child Event Campaigns provide an answer.
When taking part in charitable campaigns, the money you raise goes directly to your child. This allows you to use the charity as a platform to fundraise professionally and legitimately. You will also benefit from our expert fundraising experience and support to maximise your efforts.
As parents, YOU select whichever campaign you wish to undertake and we hold the money you raise in trust, restricted to help your child and your child only. Funds can help to pay for:
·         Regular and consistent physiotherapy
·         Intensive ‘block’ physiotherapy
·         Hydrotherapy
·         Occupational therapy
·         Outreach service
·         Rebound therapy
·         Special Educational tutoring
·         Speech and Language therapy
Government Giftaid
If you are a tax payer and have provided the correct information, we can - with your consent - claim an additional 25% Giftaid that will help the charity fund our FREE services.
Now here comes the legal bit:
Heel & Toe Children’s Charity receives no funding from the Government. However, we still need to raise over £450,000 each year to offer our free CE and subsidised therapy services, where your child receives up to a third off any additional therapy. At Heel & Toe we have our own annual events, available for any parent to access. In order to provide our core free service, these events have a minimum sponsor amount, with all subsequent funds raised to be allocated to your child’s target.

You can also choose to create your own fundraising event under Heel & Toe. In order for your event to maximise its full potential, we provide the necessary support, with all money raised going directly to your child’s fund.

Any surplus funds generated can - at your request - be transferred and utilised for the general charitable purposes of Heel & Toe. If you do not transfer surplus funds to the charity each year, this money can be saved and used in the new year. Legally, we cannot refund any money to you or your child.

This Parents' Charter describes how Heel & Toe Children’s Charity and parents work together in the best interests of the children. The Trustees reserve the right to update the charter as required.

How do I raise funds for Heel & Toe Children’s Charity?

There are so many ways in which you can help raise funds for Heel & Toe. As well as organising your own event, you may call on business support or ask friends, family and work colleagues to participate in an already-existing Heel & Toe event. We can advise and support you throughout, contributing suggestions and even attending an event you organise.

Additionally, we can supply sponsor forms, posters, event tickets and letters requesting event prizes. These can all be tailored to the needs of your specific event.

Collecting donations online

We at Heel & Toe prefer to use Virgin Money Giving as their charges are the most economical, so more money is given to your child and the charity. Just Giving is also available.

You may use as many pages as you require and we can help you set them up, should you need assistance.

What happens to the funds I raise?

Heel & Toe Children’s Charity receives no Government or NHS funding and therefore we need to raise all costs of providing our services to your child. Our costs are funded by: applying to private grant funders, donations from businesses, selling merchandise, bag packing and many other fundraising strategies. However, each year we need to raise around £180,000 – around 40% is generated from events. Without your support we are unable to provide our essential services.

At the start of each month we will provide you with a statement, showing your balance. You will be able to add any money that is donated or raised throughout the month, and for any therapy your child has received, money will be discounted.
The only services you pay for is what your child requires in addition to Conductive therapy, such  as Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Special Needs Tutoring.

If you choose to organise your own event, all funds raised can be allocated to your child’s account at the charity.

If you participate in a Heel & Toe event, a minimum sponsorship amount is set – this covers the cost of the event and a contribution to the charity's core running costs. All money raised over the minimum amount is allocated to your child’s fund.

What do we pay for?

The funds raised for your child’s benefit belong to the charity, but it can be used for any service the charity provides, including - among others - Physiotherapy, Special Needs Tutoring, Block Intensive Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.

How long can I fundraise for?

There is no time limit, however the charity can only support children up to the age of 19. If, for any reason, your child leaves the charity, the fund balance becomes unrestricted funds of Heel & Toe.

Parents' responsibility?

Heel & Toe act professionally at all times and we expect you, as parents, to respect the rules of our organisation. You must sign and agree to abide by these rules. We expect you to notify us if you and your child are to be late or are unable to attend sessions. Sessions cost the charity on average £30 per hour and therefore, each time a session is lost, it cannot be offered to another child who may be on our waiting list. Please inform us if you and your child are to be late or will be unable to attend a session.

Heel & Toe Children's Charity reserves the right to discharge a child at any time.
